Bandits suspected to be loyal to factional leader Bello Turji, have killed at least 5 people after opening fire on a vehicle conveying 24 people from Sabon Birni to Rijiyar Ladan village in Sabon Birni local government area of Sokoto State.
The attack reportedly occurred at Gidan Bawa junction on Monday morning. In a video provided by Rundunar Adalci, a human rights group in Sokoto State, one of the victims (name withheld) said the bandits opened fire on the vehicle and set it ablaze.

The Arewa Youth Advisory Forum (AYCF) has called on the Federal Government to ban TV reality show, Big Brother Naija. This year’s show which is tagged ”Shine Ya Eye” is currently ongoing.
The AYCF National President, Yerima Shettima, made the call while speaking to newsmen today August 6.
Describing the show as a calamity, Shettima said BBNaija should not be encouraged because it promotes “immorality.”
