Why I relocated to United States – Tekno

Afrobeat singer, Augustine Miles Kelechi, popularly known as Tekno, has announced that he has moved out of the country and is now based in the United States.

According to the ‘Enjoy’ crooner, he left Nigeria because the country’s name was “changed” to UAR.

Recall that Nigeria’s House of Representatives received a proposal to rename Nigeria in June 2021.

Adeleye Jokotoye, a tax consultant in Lagos State, who proposed that Nigeria should be renamed the United African Republic, argued that the current name was not given to the country by its citizens but by Flora Shaw, wife of Lord Lugard, a colonialist, adding that it does not promote unity amongst citizens.

According to Tekno, UAR is unacceptable, noting that he will come back home when it’s changed back to Nigeria.

Tekno said: “As you all already know I have moved out of Nigeria since they called it UAR.

“I am not from UAR, I am a full Nigerian.

“When it’s back to Nigeria, I will pull back home but right now, I live in the United States of America.”

Veteran actor Jide Kosoko clears air on frustrating Iyabo Ojo and Nkechi Blessing out of the industry.

According to him, the judgement passed on them was neither defending Baba Ijesha rape case nor discouraging Iyabo Ojo and Nkechi Blessing’s stance on the matter.

Sharing a video, he mentioned the reason for taking such bold steps on the two actresses was the derogatory statements made that could tarnish the image of the Yoruba movie industry.

The veteran actor further explained he would never tolerate any rape incident involving any of the members. He would let the law take its course rather than playing jungle justice.

It was earlier reported that actress Iyabo Ojo has come forward to render an apology on behalf of herself and Nkechi Blessing to TAMPAN for any misconduct displayed.
