Nnamdi Kanu should be executed if FG releases him – Asari Dokubo

Kanu should be executed severally for the people killed in Igboland if federal government is foolish enough to release him.

An ex-Niger Delta militant — Mujahid Asari Dokubo, has called for the killing of all members of the Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, in the South East over what he described as the destruction the economy of the South East with reoccurring sit-at-home orders.

Dokubo, in a live video on his Facebook page on Sunday, accused Mazi Nnamdi Kanu and IPOB of spearheading the destruction of Igboland.

He said “Kanu should be executed severally for the people killed in Igboland if federal government is foolish enough to release him.

Army ordered to pay N1b, apologise to Nnamdi Kanu for invading his house

Kanu also asked the court to rule that his re-arrest and torture in Kenya last year were illegal.

The Federal Government and the Nigeria Army have been ordered to pay N1billion to the Leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, Mazi Nnamdi Kanu for invading his house in September 2017.

The High Court sitting in Umuahia, Abia state capital, also ordered federal government and the Army to apologise to Kanu for the violation of his Fundamental Rights.

Justice Benson Anya gave the order today, Wednesday while delivering judgement on the suit filed by Kanu against the federal government, the Army and others.

Recall that Kanu’s counsel, Aloy Ejimakor, had asked the court to declare the invasion of the IPOB leader’s Abia State residence in 2017 unconstitutional and an infringement on his constitutional rights.

Kanu also asked the court to rule that his re-arrest and torture in Kenya last year were illegal.

Ignore IPOB’s sit-at-home order, Ebonyi tells residents

But reacting to the order on Sunday, the Ebonyi government asked all markets and parks in the state to open for business, adding that failure to do so will attract “severe punishment”.

The government of Ebonyi state has called on residents in the state to disregard the sit-at-home order of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB).
Recall that the proscribed separatist group had stated there will be a sit-at-home protest in the south-east on Tuesday.

Annoucing the order on Saturday, the IPOB’s spokesperson, Emma Powerful had disclosed that the sit-at-home order is in solidarity with Nnamdi Kanu, leader of the group, who is scheduled to appear in court on January 18, 19 and 20 for the continuation of his trial.

Biafra National Anthem: Lives Of Ndigbo at Risk – Ohanaeze Knocks IPOB

Apex Igbo socio-cultural organization, Ohanaeze Ndigbo has chastised the Indigenous People of Biafra, or IPOB, for imposing a ban on the Nigerian national anthem across the zone.

The IPOB had outlawed the Nigerian National Anthem and the consumption of non-native cows in its New Year message.
The Ohanaeze Secretary-General, Mazi Okechukwu Isiguzoro, issued a statement on Wednesday cautioning that such an order would bode death for the people of the region.

The ruling, according to the Ohanaeze scribe, “would have an impact on ongoing diplomatic efforts to liberate Nnamdi Kanu.” Instead, the FG might wreak havoc in the South-East.


He said: “This order is also nonetheless destructive to the campaign for the Igbo presidency in 2023 and will give birth to avoidable military raids on all public schools in Southeastern Nigeria, with the ongoing ‘Operation Golden Dawn’.”

IPOB reacts to Buhari’s plan to visit Ebonyi: He will meet empty streets in Ebonyi or any part of Biafra he chooses to visit without releasing Nnamdi Kanu

In a statement released by its spokesperson, Emma Powerful, the group said it has information that the President is planning to visit Ebonyi state. It says the group would force a total lockdown in any state in the South East the President plans to visit.

IPOB Leader, Nnamdi Kanu May Get Bail Today — Here’s What We Know

According to reports, credited to a government lawyer, Nnamdi Kanu, the detained leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), may get a court arranged bail today, December 2. In a report, first published by NAN, government appears set to drag Kanu to Federal High Court on Thursday in a special session to fast track his bail.

There has been no official confirmation about this move. Besides, Kanu’s lead lawyer does not seem to be aware of it.
However, another Kanu lawyer, Aloy Ejimakor confirmed the hearing set for Thursday.
The last time Kanu was arraigned on 12 November, his lawyers staged a walkout and the case was adjourned till 19 January.

We’re not fighting against restructuring Nigeria — IPOB

The Indigenous People of Biafra has said that it is not against the restructuring of Nigeria.

IPOB Spokesman — Emma Powerful, said this on Monday in a statement.

He said, “Nigerian government must bear one thing in mind; IPOB is not fighting restructuring.

We are not against restructuring but our demand is not restructuring.

Our demand is the restoration of Biafra State.

All we need is a date for referendum to decide whether or not we want to continue with this forced marriage (Nigeria)
