Lagos 2022 budget: Bola Tinubu to receive N8.1b monthly from 10% tax cut

The presidential candidate is expected to receive a total of N97.2 billion naira in 2022 if Lagos meets the target set for internally generated revenue.

Former Lagos governor Bola Tinubu is expected to receive N8.1 billion monthly from the 10% commission he receives through Alpha Beta Consulting a company he setup with Dapo Apara which he awarded a monopoly to collect the states taxes when he was governor in 2003.

Update: 14-Year-Old Househelp Who fled With Her Madam’s Son In Lagos Arrested In Ogun

She stated further that the little girl was begging for alms under the pretence that the small boy is her younger brother and that their parents died in an accident in December 2020.

A 14 year old house maid, Favour Iwuozor, was on 3rd of January 2022, arrested by men of Ogun state police command for abducting her boss’s 2 years old son.

Recall that on December 31, 2021, AMB shared the story of how the suspect fled with the victim on December 19. Moses Otojareri, the father of the victim who spoke to NAN said the suspect who was employed in the second week in November, fled with his son.

According to him, the suspect attended church service with his wife and their two children. His wife however received a call from one of her customers and she left the suspect and her children in church, instructing Favour to ensure they all return to her shop after church. Favour however fled with their son.

Islamic Cleric Told Me To Get Them For Money Rituals — Man Arrested With Fresh Human Parts Confesses In Lagos

41-year-old man, Sikiru Kolawole has been arrested by the police with fresh human parts, which included the wrists, heart and flesh, in the Ikorodu area of Lagos state.

During interrogation, the suspect disclosed that the human parts were those of a male corpse exhumed from Sabo cemetery.

Lagos Rail Projects Ready 2022 — Gov Sanwo-Olu

Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu of Lagos, on Monday, assured that the fourth quarter 2022 completion target for the Red and Blue line rail projects remains on course.
Mr Sanwo-Olu gave the assurance while addressing journalists after inspection of the projects at Ikeja, Yaba, Ebute Metta and Marina stations.

The Red and Blue line rail is part of the intermodal transportation system of the Sanwo-Olu administration in reducing gridlock and ensuring interconnectivity in different parts of the state. When completed, the 37 kilometres Red Line Rail Project will link Agbado to Marina, while the 27.5 kilometres Blue line Rail Project will run from Okokomaiko to Marina.

He expressed satisfaction with the pace of works at the rail stations, as the contractors were on course, hoping that they would round up works on the Blue and Red line rails according to schedule for commercial activities later in the year.

Twitter user, @oku_yungx who shared the photos claimed that the electric car’s battery got weak on the bridge.

Nigerians react as Magodo residents protest planned demolition of properties

Police officers on Tuesday evening, besieged the phase two of Magodo estate in Lagos state in what appears to be a move to demolish some houses in the highbrow estate.

AMB gathered that the police officers accompanied some youths who appeared to be hoodlums into the estate to start marking some houses in the area for demolition.

A Danish man, Peter Nielsen, accused of killing his Nigerian wife and daughter, yesterday told a Lagos High Court that he realised that his wife and daughter had died before a doctor arrived.
The defendant testified before the court sitting at the Tafawa Balewa Square, the second time of his cross-examination, which started on November 23.
He was cross-examined by prosecution counsel, Mr Adebayo Haroun, Lagos State Deputy Director of Public Prosecutions

Nielsen was accused of killing his Nigerian wife and singer, Zainab, and their three-and-half-year-old daughter, Petra, on April 5, 2018.

Millions of naira worth of goods were early Monday destroyed in a fire incident that occurred at the Ikeja Computer Village in Lagos State.
The police in the state confirmed the incident and added that no life was lost in the Monday inferno which occured at Otigba street.

AMB gathered that the fire which occured very early even before some of the shops and offices in the building opened was quickly put out by fire fighters.
The damaged building, popularly known as 9 Square, houses offices of Spectrum and others as well as some shops.
A trader who spoke with the AMB under the condition of anonymity said that the cause of the fire was yet to be ascertained.

Lagos Bolt driver hacked to death, car stolen

Unknown assailants suspected to be carjackers have killed a cab-hailing driver identified as Oscar Emeremnini, in Lagos.
It was gathered that the Bolt driver was stabbed several times before his Toyota Corolla car was stolen by his assailants.

A source who spoke to NAN said that one of the killers disguised as a passenger and requested the driver’s services at about 12am on Sunday morning, December 5.
