Police arrest fake soldier who tries to free detained Suspect in Niger. A man dressed up as a soldier and went to secure the release of a detained suspect has been arrested in Niger State.
Emmanuel Dominic, 28, was arrested when he went to Maitumbi police station in Minna to free his friend who was in custody, police said.
During interaction with the police operatives, Dominic who wore Nigerian Army service number 05313, was discovered to be fake as he could not answer some routine questions usually posed to security personnel. He was then arrested and interrogated whereupon he confessed that he was not a soldier but paraded himself as one in order to secure the release of his friend in police custody.

Insecurity: Hoodlums attack mosque, kill worshipers, abduct seven others in Niger – Police says

Police said the incident occurred on October 25 at about 0530 hours when the gunmen attacked the village. He said the gunmen later destroyed property worth millions of naira belonging to Abubakar Maigandus in the village.

He said security personnel, however, shot dead one of the bandits.
The commissioner said the incident was understood to be a reprisal attack resulting from a long standing communal feud.

According to police, Gunmen killed an unspecified number of people who were observing early morning prayers at a Mosque at Mazakuka village in Mashegu Local Government Area of the state.

Gunmen abduct permanent secretary in Niger ministry of transport and his son

Gunmen have kidnapped Ibrahim Garba Musa, the permanent secretary in Niger’s ministry of transportation.



He was abducted in the early hours of Saturday, October 2, alongside his son in the Zungeru area of the state, where they had gone to for a wedding ceremony.

NDLEA arrests mother of three, recovers 12 wraps cocaine inserted in her private parts

Operatives of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency, NDLEA, have arrested a Nigerian women based in Brazil on Friday, July 30, recovered 12 wraps cocaine inserted in her private parts while 88 pellets stuffed in socks where discovered hidden in her handbag.

During interrogation, Mrs. Ogbonna who is a mother of three children, a resident in Brazil, claimed she lost her husband three years ago.

She confessed she decided to traffick the illicit drug to raise money for the burial of her father scheduled for 22 July in Imo state.

Minister who slumped at event moved to amenity ward at the Trauma Centre of ATBU-TH

Minister of State for Industry Trade and Investment, Ambassador Maryam Yalwaji Katagun who slumped at an official function in Bauchi State on Monday July 5, has been to the amenity ward at the Trauma Centre of the Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University Teaching Hospital (ATBU-TH) after being stabilized.



MB reported that the Chief Medical Director of ATBU-TH, Dr Yusuf Jibrin Bara had taken the minister to the amenity ward in the hospital.


Reporter said.



“Her medical challenge was a mild one and the CMD has taken the minister in his personal vehicle to the Amenity ward.
