We won’t condone killings of innocent Citizens – Ogun assembly warns customs officers

The Speaker wondered why the operatives hide under the guise of curbing smuggling of rice into the country as an excuse to kill innocent people at the border communities

Ogun State House of Assembly has condemned the gruesome killings of law-abiding and innocent residents of the state by men of the Nigeria Customs Service, especially in the border communities under the guise of curbing smuggling of rice into the country.

The assembly equally called the head of NCS to call their men in the state to order and have a change of attitude in the discharge of their duties so as to avoid unnecessary killings.
The Speaker, Rt. Hon. Olakunle Oluomo who disclosed this at a plenary session held at the assembly complex, Oke-Mosan, Abeokuta, the state capital, said that the assembly won’t condone extra-judicial killings.

Man arrested for stabbing his mistresses’ husband to death (photo)

Daniel Udoh, 38, was arrested on January 7 by Ogun State Police Command officers for allegedly stabbing to death one Emaka Umonko, the husband of a woman with whom the suspect was supposedly having a covert love affair.

The suspect was apprehended when the DPO Onipanu divisional headquarters received a distress call that the dead, who had been suspected the accused of having an illicit relationship with his wife, confronted him, resulting in a major brawl between the two men.

Olagoke Dare, a staff of Abestone Microfinance Bank Abeokuta, has been arrested by officers of Ogun state police command for allegedly conspiring with one Idowu Tunde to rob him of N3 million belonging to his employer.

Ogun Police Command spokesperson, DSP Abimbola Oyeyemi said in a statement that the suspect was arrested following a distress call received by the police at Ibara divisional headquarters that armed robbers have attacked Dare and one Mary Agbejo while coming out from a commercial bank at Oke-Ilewo area of Abeokuta where they had gone to withdraw money.

Two suspected kidnappers arrested at the point of collecting ransom in Ogun

Two suspected kidnappers were on Sunday, October 3rd arrested by men of Ogun state police command while trying to pick ransom money.

The suspects, Muhammed Abubakar 42 years old, and Clinton Niche 18 years old were apprehended following a report lodged at Agbara Area command by one Stephen Ajibili who stated that his seven year old son, Daniel Ajibili was abducted by unknown persons while he was sent on an errand by his mother at about 11:20 am.
