Police in southwest Kansas say they have arrested a man in connection to the alleged rape and trafficking of a runaway 13-year-old girl from Texas.
The Liberal Police Department said in a release that the child was located Tuesday in the 1000 block of South Kansas. She’s from Denison, Texas, and was in the presence of a 63-year-old man.
A 16-year-old girl who accused her father of raping her in Port Harcourt, River State has made a u-turn at the police station, claiming that she was influenced into making the ‘false’ accusation by an evil spirit.
According to human rights group, Centre for Basic Rights Protection And Accountability Campaign, the teenager reported her father to Chief Security Officer Of Nkpolu-Oroworukwo, Mile 3 Diobu, Comrade Godstime Ihunwo on Tuesday, 22nd November that he has been raping her.
However, she made u-turn at the Human Rights Desk, Rivers State Police Headquarters, Moscow road when she told investigators and detectives that she was influenced by an evil spirit to accuse her father falsely.
A Lagosian identified only as Fuad, has been arrested for allegedly raping a receptionist in a toilet in the Mutab Hotel and Suites on Abeokuta Street, in the Ebute Metta area of Lagos State. Metro gathered that the 19-year-old victim was asleep at the reception of the hotel when one of the lodgers woke her up at midnight and requested a towel.
It was learnt that the victim immediately left the reception, went to the backyard of the hotel to get the towel and was on her way to attend to the guest when she felt the urge to relieve herself.
The victim, who spoke to our correspondent on Sunday, said she decided to urinate at the general toilet at the backyard when Fuad accosted her inside the toilet.
She said, “He wore only his underpants when he blocked me inside the toilet. I saw a bottle with him and he said if I refused to have sex with him, he would use the bottle to kill me. He raped me inside the toilet and after he was done, he left me there. The incident happened between 12 midnight and 1am on Saturday when everybody was asleep.
A man named Victor Dickson has been accused of defiling the 6-month-old daughter of his neighbours. The victim is said to be in a lot of pain, especially when she tries to pee, following the incident.
Unfortunately, the victim’s parents are too poor to seek justice so they withdrew the case.
However, activist Yolanda George-David has taken up the case and she revealed she’s been receiving threats and her case worker has also been insulted for it.
The Oyo State Command of Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) on Friday, October 22, charged a 61-year-old man, Alfa Olayiwola Rasak, to court for allegedly raping a 15-year-old girl.
A statement released by the NSCDC Commandant, Adaralewa Michael, stated that Rasak was charged to court for Rape contrary to Section 34(1) and punishable under section 34(2) of the Child Rights Law of Oyo State by the Anti-Human trafficking and child protection unit of the command.
