In a recent Facebook post before the sad DNA result, Mokoena referred to the child’s mother as his soul mate and revealed an interesting conversation they had.

Two people who were arrested with a lion’s head in their possession in South Africa earlier this month appeared in the Zeerust Magistrates’ Court on Monday.
According to National Prosecuting Authority (NPA) spokesperson Henry Mamothame, the accused Joseph Modime (59) and Emily Mashaba(54) were granted bail of 1500 rands each (39,000 naira), and the matter was postponed to 16 February 2022 for further investigations.
He added that after verifying their addresses, the court granted them bail under strict conditions.

Omicron reinfects people at three times the rate of other Variant – South African experts finds

The Omicron variant of Covid-19 appears to be reinfecting people at a higher rate than previous strains, experts in South Africa have said, as public health officials and scientists monitor developments in the country where Omicron was first identified.
This comes after the EU’s public health agency recently warned that Omicron could cause more than half of all new Covid infections in Europe within the next few months.

“We believe that previous infection does not provide protection from Omicron,” said Anne von Gottberg, an expert at the National Institute for Communicable Diseases in South Africa.
In mid-November South Africa was reporting about 300 Covid cases a day. On Wednesday it reported 8,561 new cases, up from 4,373 the day before and 2,273 on Monday.

An 18-year-old teenager has been arrested for murder after the decomposing body of her mother was found on the side of the road days after she had reported her missing in Free State, South Africa.
Spokesperson for the Free State police, Brigadier Motantsi Makhele, in a statement on Friday, October 29, said that the teenager’s 19-year-old boyfriend has also been arrested.

Makhele said the teenager opened a missing persons case on Tuesday, 19 October. She allegedly told police that she last saw her 46-year-old mother, Sharon Fisher, alive on 14 October.
On Sunday 24 October, the mother’s decomposed body was found near the R721 Kroonstad/Vredefort road.

“Her arrest emanated from an inquest docket, which was opened following the discovery of the body of her 46-year-old mother. Her decomposed body could not yet be identified at the time of discovery, and was taken to the State mortuary where the family later assisted with identification thereof,” Makhele said.

The 34-year-old mother, Lindiswa Ntalo, who was arrested last week appeared in court on Monday, October 18 and granted bail.

According to police spokesperson Colonel Priscilla Naidu, it is alleged that during the early hours of Monday morning, 11 October 2021, the woman from Xolobe Administrative area in Tsomo allegedly gave birth to a baby girl.
